This travelling bag is handmade from the beautiful fragments of a fine Afghan carpet which was handknotted between 1880 and 1900.
Bag measures; 20 inches long, 12 inches wide, 9 inches high and is a perfect size for overnight, weekend or as a carry-on cabin bag/flight bag.
The bag is lined in an ivory raw silk handloomed in Laos. The top and straps are made from a deep chocolate brown leather with studs for extra strength. The strap rings are vintage brass. The bag has invisible hand overstitching at corners and stress points.
Each bag is unique, completely individual and a once off item. Designed and made to capture the wonderful geometry and motifs in the tribal rug, each bag has its own special character.
We use fragments of antique rugs that are un restorable and in the making of this bag we hope to continue the life of an extraordinary old tribal textile.
Made with extreme care in our workshop in the Cambrian Mountains of Wales, this bag will be a friend for a very long time.
The bag carries a lifetime guarantee; we will resolve any problem due to faulty workmanship and any accidental damage can be rectified at basic labour cost + return postage.
I first made these bags 30 years ago and original bags are still going strong after many adventurous journeys. As each bag is individually made by me there will only ever be a few, you will be joining a small and exclusive club of bag owners!
